HEAT WAVE IN UTTAR PRADESH

 

Lucknow, Sambhavi Lahiri: Lucknow has been the main victim of this year’s summer. The amount of heat waves the city is suffering is becoming unbearable for some people. The elderly and children are the most vulnerable during these extreme weathers. Generally, the summers in Lucknow stretch from March to June, with a temperature that sometimes exceeds 40 degrees Celsius.May 2023 has been extremely challenging as far as weather is concerned. Due to this range of heat waves and weather conditions people going and moving outside due to work or various other reasons must be careful and follow certain measures to protect themselves from the heat waves. Some precautionary measures can be drinking enough water, avoiding going out in the peak hours in the afternoon, avoid drinking alcohol, applying enough sunscreen, wearing lightweight clothes and using sunglasses when going out etc. There are many more way people can opt to protect themselves from the heat.

In Lucknow, schools and colleges have been asked to shut due to the alarming level of heat. It can get tough for children to study or give examinations in this weather. It may also get difficult for them to concentrate. Children are vulnerable to the heat, they may suffer from several health conditions due to the weather like high fever, sunburns, headaches, strokes etc. The educational institutions should be concerned about there students’ health and take measures accordingly.
