Tosham assembly seat has been the stronghold of the Bansi Lal family more than any party. Out of the 14 elections held so far, this seat has been occupied by the Bansi Lal family 12 times. Bansi Lal won this seat 6 times out of 7 elections. He became CM 3 times from this seat. His son Surendra Singh won thrice out of 4 elections. After the death of Surendra Singh, his wife Kiran Chaudhary won from Tosham in the by-election on a Congress ticket. After this, Kiran Chaudhary also won in 2009, 2014, and 2019.
Till now Tosham assembly seat was a stronghold of Congress but the current MLA of the area Kiran Chaudhary has left Congress and has now joined BJP and gone to Rajya Sabha. In such a situation, Bansi Lal BJP is expected to benefit from this seat.

There are more than 2 lakh 18 thousand voters in the Tosham assembly constituency. Out of these, 116430 are male and 102191 are female voters. Till now only Jat candidate has won from this seat.
