Sonipat Roadways Arranges 150 Free Buses for Women on Raksha Bandhan 2026

As festive preparations peak across the state, Sonipat Roadways has finalized comprehensive travel arrangements to ensure smooth, safe, and convenient journeys for sisters and children celebrating Raksha Bandhan 2026. Under this special initiative, eligible passengers can travel without charge on designated ordinary routes during the festival window.
Free Travel Schedule and Fleet Deployment
The complimentary travel facility will become operational starting from the afternoon of August 27, 2026, and will remain active until midnight on August 28, 2026. To accommodate high passenger volumes across urban and rural corridors, Sonipat Depot has deployed 150 buses alongside 250 transport employees, including drivers, conductors, and special route inspectors.
According to departmental guidelines, the free travel scheme applies specifically to ordinary roadways buses for women and children up to 15 years of age. Passengers opting for premium services such as AC buses or e-buses will remain subject to standard ticketing fares.
Strict Monitoring and Departmental Accountability
To prevent common festive issues such as missed trips, irregular schedules, or unauthorized delays, transport authorities have instituted strict enforcement protocols. Special inspectors are stationed along major routes to oversee bus movements in real-time.
Depot officials emphasized that any driver or conductor failing to complete scheduled trips without valid cause will face immediate disciplinary and departmental action. Furthermore, backup buses remain on standby at the depot to be dispatched instantly to high-density routes experiencing sudden crowd surges, ensuring that commuters reach their destinations smoothly.
