Jharkhand Police Paste Property Attachment Notice on ₹25 Lakh Fraud Accused

High drama unfolded across the upscale residential lanes of DLF Phase-3 in Gurugram on Thursday as an operational team from the Jharkhand Police marched in with traditional drums, bugles, and megaphones to execute formal court proclamation proceedings against an elusive fraud accused. Led by Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Prabhat Kiran Kokil from the Bermo police station in Bokaro district, the interstate police squad arrived at the V-Block residence of Balram Kumar Gupta, who has been evading arrest in connection with a ₹25 lakh financial cheating case. The ceremonial beating of drums drew widespread attention across the neighborhood as officers made public announcements over loudspeakers, reading out the judicial decree before pasting the attachment notice on the main facade of the property, warning of imminent confiscation if the fugitive fails to appear before the trial court within 30 days.

Loudspeaker Proclamation and Legal Warning: One Month Ultimatum Before Confiscation

Standing in front of the locked residential premises in DLF Phase-3, the investigating team executed Section 82/83 proclamation formalities as local residents gathered to witness the unusual legal action. ASI Kokil read aloud the judicial warrant, stating that despite intensive raids conducted across Delhi-NCR over the past three years, the accused had systematically defied court summons and absconded from legal processes. Following repeated non-appearances, the competent court declared Gupta a proclaimed offender and authorized the property attachment proceedings. The directive provides a strict one-month deadline for the accused to surrender before the Bokaro court, failing which the administration will move to formally attach, seal, and auction the prime Gurugram real estate under statutory criminal procedure norms.

The ₹25 Lakh Land Swindle: Fake Ormanjhi Plot Deal Led to Bokaro FIR and Death Threats

The legal confrontation stems from a complaint filed by Mukul Kumar, an agro-businessman based in Bermo, Bokaro, who was introduced to Balram Kumar Gupta and his relative Deepak Kumar through professional networks. Seeking land to establish an agro-enterprise, the complainant was shown a prime vacant plot near a fuel station in Ormanjhi, which Deepak falsely claimed to own. In August 2021, the accused duo visited the businessman's residence to finalize the transaction, prompting the victim to transfer ₹25 lakh online across two separate banking transactions. However, neither the land registration was executed nor was the funds refunded. When pressured to return the money, the accused allegedly issued life threats, prompting the registration of a criminal fraud FIR at Bermo police station on May 22, 2023, which triggered multi-state manhunts culminating in the high-profile Gurugram attachment drive.
