In a comprehensive Sunday administrative reorganization aimed at tightening regional law enforcement, boosting policing efficiency, and enhancing crime detection across urban centers, the Haryana government ordered the immediate transfer and new postings of seven Indian Police Service (IPS) officers and thirty-nine Haryana Police Service (HPS) officers on September 20, 2026. The major administrative sweep recalibrates critical command structures across high-density commissionerates and key rural belts—including Gurugram, Faridabad, Panchkula, Sonipat, and Ambala—reallocating senior leadership across vital portfolios such as traffic management, anti-gang operations, railway policing, and cyber forensics.

Strategic Postings for 7 Senior IPS Officers Across Key Commissionerates

Under the freshly notified postings, senior IPS officer Rajesh Kumar sees his operational portfolio substantially broadened; he has been appointed Superintendent of Police (SP), Law and Order, Panchkula, alongside the dual responsibilities of SP, Special Task Force (STF), Panchkula, and SP, Social Outreach Programs. In the National Capital Region belt, DCP Manesar Prabina transitions to the railway grid as SP, Government Railway Police (GRP), Ambala Cantonment, while DCP Crime Faridabad Rajesh Mohan assumes the post of DCP Central Faridabad. Gurugram DCP Traffic Prateek Gehlot takes on the additional mantle of DCP Manesar concurrently with his role as Commandant of the 4th Battalion in Manesar, while Sonipat East DCP Ayush Yadav has been reassigned as DCP South Gurugram.
