Gurugram Police Constable Ambushed and Attacked With Knives by Four Criminals Near Ambala Central Jail
A chilling incident of daylight crime has sent shockwaves through Ambala after a Gurugram police constable was brutally attacked and robbed by four armed criminals. The victim, Constable Mukesh Kumar, posted in the West Zone of the Gurugram Police and a resident of Chitlang village in Mahendragarh, was traveling to Ambala Central Jail to execute a production warrant for an inmate named Saifi. Dressed in plain clothes, Constable Kumar was walking along a deserted route near the railway underpass toward the Central Jail when two motorcycles carrying four unidentified assailants suddenly intercepted and surrounded him.
Violent Assault and Robbery in Broad Daylight
The attackers launched a vicious assault, using sharp weapons and knives to strike the constable repeatedly on his head, both hands, and legs. Overpowered by the sudden ambush, Constable Kumar collapsed onto the roadway, bleeding from his injuries. Taking advantage of the isolated location, the criminals rifled through his pockets, stealing his mobile phone and 1,500 rupees in cash before speeding away on their motorcycles. A local passerby who witnessed the aftermath immediately alerted emergency services by calling Dial 112. Police teams from the Baldev Nagar police station swiftly arrived at the scene and rushed the injured officer to the district civil hospital, where doctors confirmed that his condition is currently stable and out of danger.
Police Investigation Underway as Law and Order Questions Arise
According to details shared by Constable Kumar, he had departed from Gurugram at 6:30 AM, reaching Ambala Cantonment by 12:30 PM before taking an auto to Baldev Nagar and continuing on foot via Kabir Nagar and the railway underpass. The brazen attack in broad daylight has sparked serious concerns regarding local safety and the security of law enforcement personnel traveling on official duty. The Baldev Nagar police station has registered a case, launched a rigorous manhunt, and is currently analyzing local surveillance footage to identify and apprehend the four fugitive criminals responsible for the armed assault and robbery.
