Gurugram-Jhajjar Fast Lane: ₹555 Cr Approved to Upgrade Bilaspur-Kulana

Post

In a significant infrastructure upgrade aimed at boosting inter-district connectivity and eliminating perennial traffic bottlenecks across the National Capital Region (NCR), the Haryana government has granted formal administrative approval of ₹555.83 crore for the four-laning of the vital road corridor connecting Bilaspur in Gurugram district to Kulana in Jhajjar district. The strategic arterial link serves as an essential transit route for daily office-goers, heavy freight vehicles, and commercial transport operating between Southern Haryana’s industrial belts and rural centers. The comprehensive overhaul includes significant structural enhancements such as a dedicated elevated flyover across Pataudi town and the comprehensive expansion of a major railway overbridge (ROB) to ensure uninterrupted, high-speed regional vehicular transit.

Pataudi Flyover and Heli Mandi Rail Bridge Expansion Greenlit

Announcing the administrative milestone, Haryana Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Ranbir Gangwa confirmed that the extensive civil works on the Bilaspur-Kulana stretch have been expedited following an exhaustive technical assessment of the revised Detailed Project Report (DPR). The flagship engineering components embedded within the ₹555.83-crore outlay focus on resolving chronic congestion in dense urban pockets along the route. A major highlight is the construction of a modern elevated flyover designed to bypass congested commercial sectors in Pataudi city, allowing through-traffic to pass smoothly without entering congested local markets. Additionally, the existing two-lane railway overbridge situated at railway crossing number 45-A in Heli Mandi will be upgraded into a full-fledged four-lane facility, completely eliminating long vehicle queues caused by bottlenecked rail crossings.

Economic Boom and Smoother Commutes for Gurugram and Jhajjar

The four-laning of the Bilaspur-Kulana artery is set to unlock substantial economic value by linking the industrial manufacturing zones of Manesar and Bilaspur directly with the agricultural and logistics hubs of Jhajjar. Once fully constructed, the upgraded four-lane highway will dramatically reduce travel time between Gurugram and Jhajjar, improve vehicular safety, lower logistics overheads for freight carriers, and enhance localized real estate and industrial corridors flanking Pataudi and Heli Mandi.
