Google has launched another updated version of ‘Results about you’ aimed at improving users’ experience in monitoring and managing the personal information that appears in search results.

This redesigned feature now actively searches for sensitive information such as your phone and email and your home address, notifying you if such information appears in Google Search. You can then initiate a removal request through the platform.

Automated Monitoring and Notifications Simplifying the Work

Users enrolled in the Results about you hub receive automated monitoring once they enroll. Google searches for the data and alerts users as soon as any personally identifiable information is spotted in the search results.

With this hands-off approach, users no longer have to complete manual checks, providing a stress free method of managing one’s digital footprint.

Requests for Removal of Certain Types of Information and the Content Refresh Option

It is now much easier to submit a request for removal. Users can see what types of content are eligible for removal by clicking the three-dot menu next to a certain search result. If users meet certain criteria, they will be able to submit a request in a few clicks.

Also, Google now permits users to refresh search results. If you’ve requested a website to remove or update your personal data but old information still displays, you can ask Google to check the source again by issuing a refresh request.
