In a significant move to provide relief, the central government has released the 21st installment of the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme for farmers in Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh. The early release of funds on Friday, September 26, 2025, is intended to support farmers in these states who have been affected by recent floods and landslides

Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan announced the transfer of over ₹540 crore directly into the bank accounts of more than 27 lakh farmers across the three states. This installment provides each eligible farmer with ₹2,000.

Speaking on the occasion, Chouhan stated that the financial aid is aimed at helping farmers cover immediate household expenses, buy seeds and fertilizers for the upcoming sowing season, and rebuild their confidence to continue farming after the natural disasters.

The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme was launched in 2019 to provide income support to small and marginal farmer families. Under this program, eligible farmers receive ₹6,000 per year in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each.
