As per reports, Iyer not only scored an impressive 199-run inning during a practice match at the National Cricket Academy but also actively participated in fielding for up to 50 overs. This suggests that he is making a remarkable recovery, indicating positive news for the team’s prospects in the upcoming Asia Cup.
Shreyas Iyer’s Recent Update
Shreyas Iyer recently shared a photo on Instagram, in which he is seen alongside trainer Rajnikant Shivganam and Medical Chief Nitin Patel. In the caption, he expressed gratitude to all those who supported him throughout his journey, especially the staff at the National Cricket Academy. His caption read, “It has been quite a journey. But I am grateful to all those who stood by me and assisted me on this path. Thank you Nitin bhai, Rajni sir, and the staff of the National Cricket Academy. Also, heartfelt thanks to the external well-wishers.”
A Vital Middle-Order Batsman
Shreyas Iyer has represented Team India in a total of 10 Test matches, 42 ODIs, and 49 T20 matches. Notably, a Test series was played between India and Australia prior to IPL 2023.
