Gold and silver prices have once again grabbed headlines in India, as a notable change occurred on July 4, 2025. As informed by major jewelers across the country, the price of 24 carat gold is now ₹ 9,890 per gram, and 22 carat gold is trading at ₹ 9,066 per gram. Talking about 18 carat gold, which is also called 999 fine gold, its price has been recorded at ₹ 7,418 per gram. For investors, this is invaluable as gold is a powerful hedge against inflation.
Talking about silver, it's priced at ₹ 109.90 per gram and ₹ 1,09,900 per kilogram. As is the case for most commodities, the domestic price of silver follows the international price. The value of the rupee against the dollar is also extremely relevant in this context. A proportionate weakening of the rupee with global benchmarks staying put would mean a higher domestically priced silver. In this regard, this time frame is very critical for the investors in gold and silver.
