Suspense crime, Digital Desk : The month Of May marks the embodiment of spirit and culture not only in India but across Asia. Apart from the salient Sankranti festivals, it constitutes the Jayantis (birth anniversaries) of several historical saints and important personalities, who are deeply venerated across the region and marked with formal worship, public functions and aṇa samāni in gatherings.

1. Buddha Purnima(Buddha's day):

2. Thrissur Pooram (Kochi, India): Early May

Hailed as the most exhuberant temple festival wherein grace-filled parades of elephants are accompanied with rapturous percussion and gunpowder batteries. It is celebrated in Vadakkunnathan Temple making is as visually stunning as it is culturally vigorous.

3. Saga Dawa (Tibet, Sikkim, Ladakh):May/june

A pilgrimage accompanied with acts of kindness to sacred ceremonies that mark the events of the life of Buddha Shakyamuni.

4. Cheung Chau Bun Festival (Hong Kong): Early May

A colorful celebration of Tao, fussing the spirit of Pak Tai the deity of the sea with rituals aimed to calm spirits and ascension bun towers accompanied with parades.  

5. Boun Bang Fai (Thailand, Laos): Mid May
Also called the Rocket Festival, firing of hand crafted rockets to bring forth the fertility deities and ask them to favor the rains is the central feature of this celebration.

1. May Adi Shankaracharya Jayanti - May 

Marked with deeper philosophical dialogues and recitations at Shankaracharya Peeths which takes place at Shankaracharya Peeths while at Shankaracharya Peeths.

2. Swami Narayan Jayanti - Early May / Late April

Recitation and praise of Swamanarayan so done by praise followers and followers of Bhakti movement along with sambands.

3. Sant Ravidas Jayanti - Signified also as May 8 - April 8.

Regionally celebrated in March but usually celebrated in February, there is a pattern of celebrations in regard with different calendars.

4. Parshuram Jayanti - Late April to May.  

Celebrates the birth of Lord Parshuram and is known as the sixth avatar of vishnu. He pujas and yagnas and also recites a lot of his deeds.

5. Ramanujacharya Jayanti - May

Celebrating the birth of the led vishisitadvaita sri ramanuja philosophy. He took part in vishnu temples for discourse and worship of Sri vishnu

6. Guru Arjan Dev Ji Jayanti - May.

He was the fith Sikh guru who ad sang Adi Granth and Guruduwara gurd fiddan was built outam the golden temple, he was the one.
