Suspense crime, Digital Desk : As India stands on the cusp of its most ambitious scientific endeavor—the Gaganyaan human spaceflight mission—the family of one of its chosen astronauts turned to ancient faith, seeking divine protection for their son.
The family of Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla, one of the four decorated Indian Air Force pilots selected for the historic mission, traveled to the sacred city of Ujjain to offer special prayers at the revered Mahakaleshwar Temple.
His mother, wife, sister, and other relatives participated in the temple's famous pre-dawn Bhasma Aarti, a powerful and unique ritual dedicated to Lord Shiva. Following the aarti, they performed a Jalabhishek, an offering of water, at the temple's main Jyotirlinga, one of the twelve most sacred Shiva shrines in the world.
Speaking to reporters, a family member expressed that their sole purpose was to pray for the safety of Group Captain Shukla and the overall success of the Gaganyaan mission, which represents a giant leap for the nation.
This poignant moment beautifully captures the confluence of India's cutting-edge scientific aspirations and its deep-rooted spiritual traditions. While scientists and engineers at ISRO work on the complex mechanics of space travel, the families of the brave astronauts who will undertake the perilous journey are placing their faith in a higher power for a safe and successful outcome.
