The Indian film fraternity is mourning the loss of veteran filmmaker Kuku Kohli, director of iconic Bollywood blockbusters such as Phool Aur Kaante and Yeh Dillagi, and husband of veteran actress Aruna Irani. He passed away at the age of 77 following a sudden heart attack in Mumbai. Industry colleagues and family members confirmed the tragic news, sending shockwaves through the entertainment industry.
Sudden Demise at Mumbai Hospital
Filmmaker Ashoke Pandit confirmed the passing of Kuku Kohli in an interview, stating that the director suffered a heart failure and was rushed to Mumbai's Kokilaben Ambani Hospital, where he unfortunately could not be revived. Aruna Irani's brother, Sanjay, shared that the director had recently undergone surgery and was even scheduled to be discharged before suffering a sudden cardiac arrest. His final rites were scheduled to take place at the Oshiwara crematorium.

Born Avtar Kohli, Kuku Kohli established himself as one of Hindi cinema's finest directors over a career spanning more than three decades.
