Dhurandhar Actor Ayesha Khan Detained by Mumbai Police During Peaceful Student Protest; Released After Hours in Custody
Popular actor and model Ayesha Khan, recently seen in the hit song Shararat from the blockbuster film Dhurandhar, was detained by the Mumbai Police at Shivaji Park, Dadar. The actor had reached the venue to show solidarity with student aspirants protesting against alleged NEET examination irregularities and demanding educational reforms.
Ayesha shared a series of emotional videos on her Instagram Stories documenting the detention process from inside a police van and later from Worli Police Station.

In her viral video clips, a visibly emotional Ayesha described how she and two female friends were taken into custody despite not actively participating in any demonstration.
"My hands are literally shivering right now. I’ve been detained in the police van just for standing on the road peacefully. I didn’t say a word. I didn’t even start the protest. I was standing because my brother and my male friends were detained." — Ayesha Khan, Actor.
She alleged that around 15 police personnel, including female officers, surrounded them and forced them into the police vehicle without offering any explanation for the detention.
Reaches Worli Police Station; Questions Legality of Police Action
Posting a longer video update from Worli Police Station, Ayesha explained that she arrived at Dadar around 4:00 PM. She emphasised that her group had neither raised slogans nor displayed placards and were standing on the roadside when officers intervened.
While noting that officers inside the police station treated her politely, she questioned the aggressive behaviour of the personnel at the protest venue, alleging that she and her friends were pushed while being forced into the police van.
Released After Hours; Brother Taken to Alternate Station
Approximately three hours following her initial posts, Ayesha updated her fans on social media, confirming her release from custody. She revealed that members of her group were intentionally separated and taken to different locations across Mumbai.
She confirmed that while she was allowed to leave Worli Police Station, she was heading to the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Police Station to secure the release of her brother and male friends.
