After shattering box office records and dominating digital streaming charts, Aditya Dhar's blockbuster spy action thriller Dhurandhar The Revenge (popularly known as Dhurandhar 2) is gearing up for its much-anticipated television premiere. Starring superstar Ranveer Singh in the lead role, the film is scheduled to air on Star Gold on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at 7 PM. However, television viewers will experience a slightly modified version of the movie, as the Censor Board has mandated 45 to 50 cuts to make it suitable for family viewing.
Why the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) Mandated Cuts
Having originally received a strict 'A' certificate from the CBFC for its theatrical release due to high-octane action and intense sequences, the makers had to resubmit the movie for television certification:
Family-Friendly Adjustments: To comply with broadcasting guidelines for younger audiences, the CBFC required 45 to 50 modifications.
Removing Excessive Violence: According to industry reports, the majority of the changes involved trimming scenes featuring excessive gore and intense violence.
Seamless Editing: Sources close to the production noted that the makers edited out the disturbing sequences smoothly so that the narrative flow and emotional impact of the film remain entirely intact.
What Is the Runtime of the TV Version?
Following the modifications, the CBFC cleared the film with a U/A 16+ certificate:
New TV Runtime: The broadcast version will run for 219 minutes and 6 seconds (3 hours, 39 minutes, and 6 seconds).
Comparison with Theatrical Cut: The original theatrical version had a runtime of 229.6 minutes (3 hours, 49 minutes, and 6 seconds). Consequently, the television premiere version is exactly 10 minutes shorter.
