According to official media reports, the veteran actor breathed his last while undergoing treatment for blood cancer at Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai. From Jabalpur to Hastinapur: The 'Ashwatthama' Journey
Born on January 21, 1952, Pradeep Rawat originally hailed from Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh. Like many aspiring artists stepping into the acting world, his initial days were filled with immense struggles. However, his towering height and powerfully built physique eventually caught the attention of legendary filmmaker B.R. Chopra.
Recognising his on-screen presence, Chopra cast him in the monumental role of Ashwatthama in the historic superhit TV serial Mahabharata. While Rawat initially tried his luck as the lead hero in a few small-budget projects, those ventures failed to take off. Showing great foresight, he wisely pivoted to character acting and antagonist roles—a decision that ultimately cemented his legacy.

Throughout the 90s, Pradeep Rawat became a familiar face in Bollywood, playing supporting roles and police officers in major films like Aitbaar, Agneepath, Baaghi, Koyla, Major Saab, and Sarfarosh.
