The recent reunion of the actors who played them, Dayanand Shetty and Janvi Chheda, on the reality show Laughter Chefs Unlimited Entertainment was initially met with a wave of excitement and nostalgia. However, that excitement has soured for many, who now accuse the show's makers of using the beloved pair for a cheap TRP gimmick.
The buzz started when a promo for the Colors TV show featured Dayanand and Janvi sharing the screen again. The clip highlighted their iconic pairing, with host Krushna Abhishek even playfully teasing them, much to the delight of the audience. The episode delivered on the nostalgia, showing the two working together in the kitchen, their familiar dynamic shining through.
However, the reality of the situation quickly set in for viewers. Janvi Chheda's appearance was not a full-fledged comeback or a sign of a new project together. She was brought in as a guest for a single episode to support Dayanand Shetty, who is a regular contestant on the cooking show alongside other celebrities like Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain.
This realization led to a significant backlash on social media. Fans expressed their frustration, feeling that their hopes for a genuine reunion or a hint of a CID revival had been exploited. Many labeled the guest appearance a "scam" and "clickbait," arguing that the makers intentionally misled the audience to boost viewership for that particular episode.
Comments flooded social media platforms, with one user writing, "Makers just used her for TRP, which is very disappointing." Another fan added, "This is a scam. I thought she would be a permanent partner, but she just came for one episode."
