CoronaVirus: Team India will not play any matches in next two months, know what is the new update

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced that Team India will no longer visit Zimbabwe (India vs Zimbabwe) for the three-match ODI series in August. Earlier in June and July, the series with India vs Sri Lanka was also canceled. That is, Team India will not play any international match until at least August. For the last three months, Team India has not stepped on the field and now it will remain like this for at least two months to come.

The BCCI said in a statement that the Indian cricket team will not tour Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in view of the Kovid-19 threats. The Indian team was to play three ODIs and the same number of T20 series in Sri Lanka from 24 June. From August 22, he was scheduled to play a three-match ODI series in Zimbabwe. The BCCI had earlier issued a statement on 17 May stating that the board would organize a camp for training for its contracted players only after it is completely safe to train outside.

BCCI has not yet allowed the players of Team India to start practice. Issuing a statement in this regard, BCCI Secretary Jay Shah said that the Board of Control for Cricket in India announced on Friday that the Indian cricket team would not visit Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe in view of the current threat of the Kovid-19 epidemic. Jai Shah said that Team India had to tour Sri Lanka for three ODIs and the same T20 from 24 June 2020, while in Zimbabwe to play a series of three ODIs from 22 August 2020.

The big thing is that the Indian team has not started training yet and there is no possibility of camping before July. Players will take about six weeks to prepare for the matches. Shah reiterated that the training camp will be organized only when it is safe to do so. According to this, the BCCI will organize camps for its contracted players only when it is completely safe to train outside. It said that the BCCI is committed to taking steps towards the restoration of international and domestic cricket but will not take any decision that will spoil the efforts of the Central and State Government and other related agencies to stop the spread of coronavirus. He also said that the BCCI is constantly assessing the situation of Kovid-19 in the country and will make a decision on resuming cricket activities only after considering all the government guidelines.

Let us tell you that the last series of Team India was on the tour of New Zealand, in this tour, Team India played the series of One Day, Test and T20 format. Apart from T20, no series was won. Although the South African team also visited India after this, not a single match of this series was played by chance. The first match was to be held in Dharamshala, it was canceled due to rain, but even before the second match, the havoc of Corona spread so much that everything went awry. With this, the series was canceled. After this, on the one hand, arrangements were made to bring the players of Team India to their home, while the South African team was also arranged to take them safely to their country.

Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s head coach and former Indian opener Lalchand Rajput were disappointed with the series being canceled after the series was canceled. He is currently in Mumbai. He canceled the series is sad for Zimbabwe cricket because he will not be able to play against India. Lalchand Rajput said every team wants to play against India because it is one of the best teams. Zimbabwean players missed the opportunity to play against cricketers like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Jaspreet Bumrah.
