Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : CJI B R Gavai recounted his life journey while being honored by The Bar Council of India. He mentions that he was inspired to take on the position he currently does because of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s teachings, along with the values he received from his family. In Gandhinagar, Gavai mentions, “Whatever I am today is because of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar’s ideology and the ‘sanskar’ I received from my parents.”
Family and Social Justice Influence
Gavai joined The Supreme Court of India with years of experience in law. He explained that he received good traditional values relatives, and learned the significance of inclusion. His father, Dadasaheb Gavai, did not stop supporting him with words like, “You may earn money as a lawyer, but as a judge, you can further Ambedkar’s vision of social and economical justice.”

Public Reaction and Ceremony
His last day was on May, 12, 2025. He was succeeded by Sanjiv Khanna. Officially, Gavai started his new role as 51st Chief Justice of India two days later on May, 14. He was sworn in publicly for the site to make his statements after receiving the honors. Uh, Gavai, collating the various opinions published made available dependent on what was available published openly during space issues.
A Historic Appointment in Indian Judiciary
Gavai's appointment is a considerable landmark in the judicial history of India. He is preceded by KG Balakrishnan who was the initial Dalit and the subsequent Buddhist to ascend the Chief Justice of India position in 2007. Gavai will retire in November 2025 and will serve for six months.
