Suspense Crime, Digital Desk : Security agencies have become alert following the arrest of Bangladeshi citizen Kamal Sheikh in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district a fortnight ago. Following the crackdown on infiltration in Bengal, security agencies have received information that large numbers of illegal immigrants may leave Bengal and enter various districts of Chhattisgarh.

Following this information, police have intensified a manhunt to identify suspects in several districts, including Raipur, Rajnandgaon, Korba, and Bastar. According to sources, central intelligence agencies fear that many people have gone underground in Bengal, fearing capture.

Many suspects are living as laborers at construction sites in Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Maharashtra. Construction companies and contractors operating in the district have been asked to provide complete records of their employees.

It should be noted that fake identity cards were seized from three Bangladeshi brothers arrested in Raipur two years ago. All three are still incarcerated in Raipur jail. In previous operations, more than 30 infiltrators have been apprehended from several districts in the state. After receiving permission from the central government, the process of deporting them to Bangladesh is underway.
