Rajnandgaon Approved for EMC 2.0 Cluster Bringing Over ₹3,000 Crore Investment and 9,000 Jobs
Under the progressive leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, the state of Chhattisgarh has achieved a monumental industrial milestone that promises to reshape its economic future. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), Government of India, has officially approved the establishment of a state-of-the-art Electronics Manufacturing Cluster (EMC 2.0) in Patewa village, located within the Rajnandgaon district. Backed by a central assistance grant of ₹210.56 crore under a total project outlay of ₹432.08 crore—to be executed by the Chhattisgarh State Industrial Development Corporation (CSIDC)—this ambitious project is projected to inject over ₹3,000 crore in investments while generating approximately 9,000 direct employment opportunities for local youth.
Modern Infrastructure and Strong Corporate Backing in Rajnandgaon
Following the success of the state's first electronics cluster in Naya Raipur, this new facility in Rajnandgaon marks Chhattisgarh's second major electronics hub, further expanding the availability of world-class industrial infrastructure. Spanning an expansive 306.56 acres of land, the cluster features 150.56 acres dedicated strictly to industrial plots, complemented by ready-built factories, robust power and water supply networks, advanced warehousing, and comprehensive utility services. Demonstrating immediate commercial viability, four major anchor companies specializing in the semiconductor, electric vehicle (EV), and smart electronics sectors have already committed to the project, proposing an initial investment of approximately ₹365 crore. With all necessary statutory clearances secured in advance, the project is completely ready for immediate ground implementation.
Aligning With National Visions of 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' and 'Make in India'
Expressing deep gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai emphasized that the approval of EMC 2.0 stands as clear testament to Chhattisgarh emerging as a premier, reliable destination for national-level manufacturing industries. To ensure local youth reap the maximum benefits, the state government is actively revamping technical and vocational training institutes to match industry demands. Furthermore, Commerce and Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan highlighted that the state has streamlined investor onboarding through a rapid, transparent single-window system. By accelerating component manufacturing and value addition, this milestone project gives powerful momentum to national initiatives like Make in India, Digital India, and Atmanirbhar Bharat.
