Boycott China: The Confederation of All India Traders (CAT), a trade body, on Thursday appealed to celebrities not to promote Chinese products. This appeal has been made by CAT in view of the martyrdom of Indian soldiers in Galvan Valley and the tension between India and China.
CAIT has written an open letter asking film stars Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, cricketer Virat Kohli and other celebrities to stop promoting Chinese products. Also, Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and others have been asked to join the campaign for a boycott of Chinese goods.
CAIT has appealed to Aamir Khan, Deepika Padukone, Katrina Kaif, Virat Kohli, Mahendra Singh Dhoni to discontinue the China commercials. On the other hand, Cait has also invited Amitabh Bachchan, Akshay Kumar, Shilpa Shetty, Madhuri Dixit, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Sachin Tendulkar, and many others to join their national movement “Indian Honor-our pride” boycott of Chinese goods.
CAIT general secretary Pravin Khandelwal has said in the letter that the Chinese army very brutally attacked the Indian army in Ladakh. 20 of our military personnel were martyred in this, every Indian is saddened by this. Anti-China protests took place in many parts of the country including Jammu and Kashmir. The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) said on Thursday that it would launch a nationwide campaign to appeal people to boycott Chinese goods and mobile phones.
On the other hand, the two Union Ministers on Thursday appealed to the people to boycott Chinese products, while the Railways has decided to cancel the contract of a Chinese company for Rs 471 crore due to slow progress in signal and telecom work. Union Minister Ramdas Athawale has said that all the restaurants and hotels that sell Chinese foods in India should be closed along with the boycott of products made in China. Athawale tweeted one, “China is a deceitful country. India should boycott all Chinese goods. Chinese restaurants and all Chinese food restaurants and hotels should be closed in India. ”
Whereas Union Minister Nitin Gadkari said that India should no longer depend on China and instead should focus on research and innovation to accelerate domestic manufacturing.
