To participate in the upcoming Chandigarh discussions, the Pay Commission has mandated that all interested employee unions, pensioner organizations, and individual stakeholders must submit their applications online by August 25, 2026. Applicants are required to provide a unique Memo ID generated upon submitting their formal memorandum along with their application. Once verified and accepted, the Commission will directly notify participants regarding the exact date, time, and designated venue for the interactive meeting.
Key Agenda: Salary, Fitment Factor, and Pension Discussions
The primary objective of these nationwide consultation meetings is to gather grassroots suggestions directly from the workforce and retired personnel. The discussions will comprehensively cover vital financial and service parameters, including revised salary structures, fitment factor revisions, pension enhancements, promotion policies, allowances, and overall working conditions. The feedback collected during these regional sessions will play a critical role in shaping the Commission's final recommendations, which are slated for submission to the central government.
Nationwide Schedule and Submission Timeline
Prior to the Chandigarh sessions, the Commission has mapped out an extensive travel and consultation itinerary across India. Stakeholder meetings are lined up in New Delhi from August 7 to 10, followed by sessions in Chennai on September 7 and 8, and Puducherry on September 9. The Commission has clarified that separate rounds for other states and union territories will be announced subsequently. Having been formally constituted by the Central Government on November 3, 2025, the 8th Pay Commission operates on an 18-month timeline, requiring the final comprehensive report to be submitted by May 2027.
