Delhi-NCR CNG Price Hike: Greener fuel gets dearer by Rs 3.89/kg—See Delhi, Noida, Gurugram location-wise rate list
CNG prices were revised upwards by Rs 3.89 per kg across the National Capital Region (NCR) -- New Delhi and its adjoining satellite cities. This marks the first revision in the cleaner fuel retail prices in three months. The CNG price now averages Rs 94.7 per kg in 22 locations in the NCR.
The CNG price increase is set to have a direct impact on the daily running costs of CNG passenger vehicles, auto-rickshaws, and taxi fleets operating throughout the capital region.
The updated retail tariffs came into effect starting at 6:00 am on Saturday, August 29.
Daily commuters may also feel the ripple effect if commercial transport operators adjust fares to absorb the fuel price escalation.
After the revision, CNG is now priced at Rs 86.98 per kg in the NCT of Delhi, Rs 95.59 per kg in Noida, Ghaziabad, Gautam Budh Nagar, Greater Noida and Rs 92.01 per kg in Gurugram.

The prices in 22 locations averaged Rs 94.7 per kg.
CNG prices in the NCR were last revised in late May. The last revision in the national capital was to Rs 83.09 per kg from Rs 81.09 per kg.
In May, the rates were revised by a cumulative total of Rs 6 per kg across four separate revisions over a fortnight.
India kicks off festive season.
The festive season in the country is an important consumption period, marked by family gatherings, travel, gifting, home decoration, and increased shopping activity. Normally, the festive period lasts about 2-3 months, beginning in late August or September and continuing through November.
This year, the festive shopping run has begun this month and is expected to continue until Diwali in November.
Markets typically see higher footfalls during this period as consumers bring forward annual discretionary purchases.
Companies and retailers also step up their efforts, offering discounts, special financing schemes and festive launches to attract buyers. Typically, the strongest demand is seen during the Navratri-to-Diwali period, when festive sentiment and shopping activity tend to peak.
The country celebrated Rakshabandhan -- popularly known as Rakhi -- on Friday. Before the festival, the traders' body CAIT had estimated nationwide rakhi business at nearly Rs 25,000 crore this year, with the national capital expected to account for around Rs 4,000 crore.
