Man Climbs 50-Foot Mobile Tower Over Marital Dispute, Rescued After 90 Minutes
A dramatic incident unfolded on Sunday morning in Deep village, located within the jurisdiction of the Jhanjharpur RS police station in Madhubani district, when a young man scaled a 50-foot-tall mobile tower over a domestic dispute. The commotion quickly drew a massive crowd of anxious villagers as the individual began shouting from the heights, demanding that his wife return to him. While local residents initially attempted to coax him down, the situation grew increasingly tense as he continued to climb higher, prompting widespread concern for his safety and urgent calls for intervention.
Rescue and Intervention by Local Representatives
After nearly an hour and a half of sustained persuasion and tense negotiations, the young man was safely brought down from the tower. The successful rescue was credited to the timely efforts of local public representatives, including Mukhiya representative Mohammad Kalam Rain, Sarpanch Mahfooz Alam, and Raghunath Chaudhary, who managed to calm him down. Investigations revealed that the man, identified as Mohammad Sajjad, had married Rana, daughter of Saukat Ansari from the same village, around 10 months ago. Tension had built up after a minor dispute broke out roughly 10 days prior, leading the wife to return to her parental home and leaving Sajjad deeply distressed over rumors of a permanent separation.
Panchayat Meeting and Police Action Following the Incident
Following his safe descent, a local village panchayat meeting was convened to resolve the matrimonial deadlock; however, the girl's family firmly refused to send their daughter back with him at this stage, leaving both sides without an immediate agreement. Responding to the developments, Jhanjharpur RS Police Station Station Officer Maya Kumari confirmed that the incident has been officially logged into the station diary. Authorities noted that no formal written complaint has been filed by either family so far, though the local police are closely monitoring the situation to maintain peace and order.
