Amidst a high-level alert surrounding the security of vital flood defenses, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary made a direct ground-zero visit on Saturday to inspect the vulnerable Kazikoraiya-Raghopur embankment. Accompanied by a high-powered delegation including Energy Minister Shailesh Kumar alias Bulo Mandal, Road Construction Minister Engineer Shailendra, Water Resources Department Principal Secretary Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, and Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, the Chief Minister personally evaluated the shifting course of the Ganga River, assessed localized water pressure, and reviewed round-the-clock anti-erosion measures.

Upon arriving at the vulnerable site in Kharik, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary was given a detailed briefing by Road Construction Minister Engineer Kumar Shailendra regarding the rapidly changing flow dynamics of the Ganges and the intense pressure building at sensitive stretches. Ministers and senior bureaucrats updated the Chief Minister on the extensive deployment of heavy machinery, specialized engineering units, boats, and labor forces currently executing emergency protection work. To combat the aggressive river currents, departmental teams have been working tirelessly around the clock. The on-site briefing highlighted the comprehensive deployment of protective techniques, including the strategic placement of geo-bags, cut-end protection, toe protection, ring bunds, and rapid anti-erosion interventions.
