CM Greenlights Technical Approval for Gaurkshini-Dardha Bridge by November
In a major development set to resolve persistent urban traffic bottlenecks in Bihar, the state administration has expedited the clearance process for the Gaurkshini-Thakurbari-Dardha bridge in Jehanabad. Reviewing public grievance matters during a high-level state cooperation programme on Tuesday, Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary directed the Road Construction Department and Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation to accord formal technical approval to the project's blueprints and cost estimates by November 2026. The executive push paves the way for the immediate tender and ground execution of the crucial river crossing, ending years of daily commuting hardship for thousands of city dwellers.
High-Level Administrative Review: Connecting Gaurakshini and Thakurbari Over Dardha River
Participating via video conference alongside Jehanabad District Magistrate Chhiring Y. Bhutia, the administration took up long-pending infrastructure demands raised through civic channels:
Restoring Broken Connectivity: Local movement between Gaurakshini and Thakurbari was severely disrupted after the existing dilapidated footbridge was dismantled over structural integrity and public safety hazards.
Citizen Grievance Addressed: Following a formal petition by local resident Vinayak Poddar, the district administration prepared structural blueprints and cost estimates, dispatching the dossiers to the Bihar State Bridge Construction Corporation.
November 2026 Deadline: The Chief Minister issued strict orders to the bridge corporation under the Road Construction Department to complete technical scrutiny without administrative lag, ensuring construction teams break ground promptly.
Four-Month Deadline Set for Hulasganj Anganwadi Centre Under Kayakalp Scheme
Addressing basic rural infrastructure, the state review also resolved a community childcare facility issue in the Hulasganj block:
Shifting from Rented Quarters: In response to representations filed by applicant Rajneesh Kumar, the administration examined the Anganwadi centre operating out of rented accommodation in West Bigha Mahadalit Tola of Bauri Panchayat.
Upgrade Under Kayakalp Scheme: District Magistrate Chhiring Y. Bhutia confirmed that a dedicated, modern building has been sanctioned under the Kayakalp initiative, with ground construction already underway under VB-G Ram Ji provisions.
Strict Construction Timeline: Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary instructed authorities to complete the Anganwadi building within three to four months, ensuring institutional support and quality nutrition access for Mahadalit community children.
