Bihar's Third Institute of Driving and Traffic Research to Come Up in Supaul: Opening New Global Employment Avenues for Youth
In a massive developmental push for northern Bihar, the state government is all about to transform Supaul into a premier hub for modern transportation training and skill development. The district administration has officially made 10 acres of government land available to the Transport Department through a free interdepartmental transfer in Banailipatti, Veerpur Mouza, under the Basantpur zone. This strategic initiative paves the way for setting up the state's third Institute of Driving and Traffic Research (IDTR), which will proudly stand as the very first such advanced facility in northeastern Bihar.
State-of-the-Art Training and International Standards
Once fully operational, the proposed IDTR in Supaul will feature world-class infrastructure designed to deliver cutting-edge instruction in road safety, modern vehicle handling, and scientific training for both light and heavy motor vehicles. Equipped with advanced simulator-based learning and research facilities, the institute aims to shape a new generation of highly professional drivers. While Bihar currently operates a similar institute only in Aurangabad—with another facility underway in Patna—this new center will uniquely cater to the youth of the Kosi and Seemanchal regions, bridging local talent gaps with national and international market demands.
Boosting Local Employment and Global Opportunities
Beyond enhancing road safety and good governance, the ambitious project serves as a major employment generator for local youth. With a continuous high demand for certified and skilled drivers both domestically and across international borders, the Transport Department plans to explore future Memorandums of Understanding with foreign nations to facilitate global placement opportunities. By empowering local candidates with professional certification, the Supaul IDTR will successfully transition the region from a quiet border district into an essential center of excellence for modern transportation, driving long-term socio-economic growth across Bihar.
