Major Android manufacturers like Samsung, Google, Motorola, and OnePlus, along with Huawei and Oppo, have developed foldable smartphones in the last few years. Apple appears yet to develop such gadgets. They take their sweet time in designing their products. When Apple does release a foldable device, likely in the distant future, it will look high-end, as expected from the company.

The wait for Apple’s Foldable iPhone is anticipated to end in 2026: Everything you need to know

Renowned Apple tipster Ming-Chi Kuo claims that they will have the requirements of Apple's foldable iPhone ready by the middle of 2025, and it will not start mass production until the later part of 2026. Additionally, it is known that the device will be initially produced in limited amounts, with the company expected to ship at least 5 M units next year. This number is subject to change based on performance of similar devices on the market.

The phone will feature 7.8 inch inner foldable display and 5.5 inch outer cover display, both providing ample screen time and likely enabling the user to multi-task. The phone will most probably sport a book shape design, typical of the Galaxy Z Fold smartphones, which would later enable it to appeal more to premium users.

Kuo has also noted that the device will lack Face ID, opting for a Touch ID side button instead to conserve internal space. Similar to more recent phone models, it is predicted that this iPhone will be advertised as a "real AI phone," as its larger display would allow for more streamlined multitasking using AI. Considering the marketing strategy, Kuo suggests that this foldable iPhone may exceed $2,000 and could reach up to $2,500.
