Anti-corruption: RTI reveals, 2.30 lakh complaints received in 46 days, 20 cases registered, lakhs spent

Punjab News: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant The anti-corruption helpline web portal launched by Mann has been receiving lakhs of complaints, but most of the cases are being dismissed as not related to bribery or vigilante acts. Crores of rupees have been spent on setting up and running anti-corruption helplines.

From 23 March 2022 to 9 May 2022 i.e. in 46 days, a total of 2,30,466 complaints have been received on the Anti-Corruption Helpline web portal launched by the Hon’ble Punjab Government. But out of them 1,91,426 complaints were quashed as not related to Vigilance Bureau.

In which 39040 complaints related to corruption were received. But out of these 1206 complaints were also sent to the concerned departments as complaints related to other departments. 37,751 complaints were found irrelevant/junk. The Vigilance Bureau received only 83 complaints involving audio-video clips. After their investigation only 20 complaints were registered.

According to information received by RTI activist Manik Goyal, 20 cases were registered out of 2,30,466 complaints received on the anti-corruption web portal from March 23, 2022 to May 9, 2022. A total of 26 accused were arrested in these cases. As per office records, from March 23, 2022 to May 9, 2022, a total of Rs 13 lakh 56 thousand 451.56 has been spent for setting up and running the anti-corruption work line. Since then this expenditure has continued unabated.

CM Bhagwant Hon Recently, people were urged to file complaints on the anti-corruption action line for demanding bribes in excess of government fees in government departments.
