In a recent statement regarding Vantara, Anant Ambani of Reliance Industries Limited was recently praised by Mahindra Group’s Anand Mahindra, after having received praise from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well.
Sharing his thoughts through a post on X, Mahindra stated, “Having visited Vantara myself, I echo the sentiments of PM @narendramodi; The level of care, the level of expertise, and the level of attention that is put at Vantara by Anant Ambani is truly heartwarming. It is truly soothing to see animals with such unfortunate backgrounds to be at a loving and tender place.”
Vantara is a wildlife rescue and rehabilitation center that encompasses over 1.5 lakh ailing, endangered, and threatened animals from over 2,000 species. It was recently visited by PM Modi who praised the facility, saying, “An effort such as Vantara’s is truly commendable,” after inaugurating Vantara’s Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre.
In reply to PM’s post on X, Vantara serves as a wonderful depiction of India’s humanitarian values, stating, “An effort like Vantara is truly commendable, a vivid example of our ethos rooted deeply in compassion for every living thing. Here are some glimpses...”
Mahindra also posted X recently modifying the PM’s post regarding the rescued elephants, one of which is a victim of an acid attack.
"I witnessed an elephant at Vantara who had been the victim of an acid attack. The elephant was receiving treatment with a lot of love and care. There were some other elephants too who were blind, and that too, ironically, at the hands of their own Mahout. One more elephant was struck by a truck driving at such high speed that it was beyond comprehension. All of this brings to light a very fundamental question- How can human beings be so careless? Let us make an effort to eradicate such indifference and focus on compassion towards animals," wrote PM Modi on X.
At Vantara, the world’s largest elephant hospital is located equipped with a modern-day hydraulic surgical platform, specialized lifting apparatus, and an endoscope designed to perform stress-free procedures and diagnostics. Rest and rehabilitation facilities include a hydrotherapy pond for elephant arthritis relief, hyperbaric oxygen chamber for ulcer wound healing, and a specialized foot care center. Chronic pain or disease is managed with ayurvedic medicine and acupuncture. Vantara also holds the world's largest chain-free musth enclosure for bull elephants, which are kept humanely and safely during musth, hence, ensuring better elephant management.
Vantara also boasts having the largest fleet of 75 custom-built ambulances for elephants.
