Tata Group Airlines company Air India on Monday said it has placed an order for 100 more new Airbus aircraft. These aircraft include 10 wide-body A350 and 90 narrow-body A320 family aircraft. According to PTI news, these 100 new aircraft are in addition to the order of 470 aircraft given to Airbus and Boeing last year. Air India also announced that it has signed an agreement with Airbus for components and maintenance support for its A350 fleet.

The total number of aircraft increased to 350

According to the news, with this new order from the airlines, the total number of aircraft given to Airbus has increased from 250 to 350. The order for 250 aircraft in the year 2023 includes 40 A350 and 210 A320 family aircraft. Let us tell you, that Air India had announced in February 2023 that it would order 470 aircraft with 370 additional options. This was confirmed in June 2023, which included 40 Airbus A350, 20 Boeing 787, and 10 Boeing 777-9 wide-body aircraft, as well as 210 Airbus A320/321 Neo and 190 Boeing 737 Max single-aisle aircraft. The

A350 order was also reshuffled

However, in December last year, the airline reworked the order with 140 A320neo and 70 A321neo aircraft as against the earlier order of 140 A320neo and 70 A321neo. It also reshuffled its A350 order with 20 A350-900 and 20 A350-1000 as against the order of six A350-900 and 34 A350-1000 in February 2023. Air India had also placed orders for 220 wide-body and narrow-body aircraft with Boeing in 2023, of which 185 aircraft are yet to be delivered.
