Suspense crime, Digital Desk : In a powerful speech setting the stage for a combative new parliamentary session, Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), launched a blistering attack on the Modi government, accusing it of a "grave moral failure" for its "deafening silence" on the escalating conflict in the Middle East.
Addressing newly-elected Congress Members of Parliament in the Central Hall of Parliament, Gandhi sharply criticized the government's foreign policy stance, particularly regarding the tensions between Israel and Iran. She argued that this silence represents a damaging departure from India's long-standing foreign policy principles, which have historically championed peace, non-alignment, and global stability.
Her critique was not limited to the global stage. Gandhi accused the Prime Minister of carrying out a "continuous assault on the Constitution" and pursuing a divisive political agenda. She asserted that the recent Lok Sabha election results were a clear "personal, political, and moral defeat" for Narendra Modi, claiming that the electorate had rejected his style of governance.
Beyond her critique of the government, Gandhi's address was also a message of encouragement and praise for her own party's performance. She lauded the resilience and determination of Congress workers and gave special credit to Rahul Gandhi for his "determined and tireless" campaign, particularly highlighting the impact of his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra.
