Ranchi: 'Come, I will feed you pakodas...' A girl who had gone to the market in Ranchi was lured away by a monster and gang-raped by his friends.
Ranchi Gangrape Case: While the Jharkhand government is implementing ambitious schemes like the "Maiya Samman Yojana" to empower women and daughters financially, the ground reality is that the state's daughters still don't feel safe. Recently, a similar incident emerged from the Beddo police station area of the capital, Ranchi, shocking human sensibilities.
A 13-year-old innocent girl was gang-raped here. The victim had been staying at her aunt's house in Beddo for the past few days. On Thursday evening, while she was returning from the market for household chores, a young man named Raja Badaik lured her away on the pretext of offering her pakodas and took her to Hariharpur Jamtoli Road.
Both the criminals gang raped her together
Raja's accomplice, Kameshwar, was already present there. Together, these two criminals gang-raped the minor girl and, after the crime, left her alone in a semi-constructed house near the forest before fleeing. Late at night, the victim managed to reach home and narrated her ordeal to her family. Considering the seriousness of the case, the Beddo police took immediate action. They registered an FIR under the POCSO Act and other relevant sections and arrested both accused. The victim has been sent to the hospital for a medical examination.
However, a similar incident occurred in Jharkhand in April in the Sadar police station area of Latehar district. Five young men abducted a young woman attending a wedding there, took her to a secluded forest, and gang-raped her. However, in that case, the police acted swiftly and sent all the accused to jail.
