According to a report by the Department of Homeland security on Tuesday, foreign nationals doing illegal work in the US without permission face serious repercussions, including steep fines or imprisonment if they fail to register with the federal government.

(recording) Trump studies will enforce all immigration policies which are in place as we will not selectively choose laws which we want to enforce; a department spokesperson said. We have to know who is in this country for the safety and security of our homeland and all Americans.

The U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services states the exact requirement wherein any immigrant over the age of 14 who was not registered and did not provide fingerprints while applying for a visa is required to report, register, and provide fingerprints if they plan to stay in the USA for a period more than 30 days.

As per the website, after registering and providing fingerprints, DHS will recommend evidence of registration. This must be carried by immigrants above the age of 18 years at all times.

Last month, Pereserdent Donald Trump returned to office and announced illegal immigration from the Mexico border is a national emergency and directed the department to make sure these immigrants do register with the federal government.

The administration has tried to cancel the entry program that the previous Biden administration adopted, which enabled hundreds of thousands of migrants to legally enter the US by booking an appointment through an app.
