Filmmakers Anthony and Joe Russo reported that the action scenes of the movies Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars are in progress simultaneously in London.
During an interview with the site Deadline, Joe revealed that they have found ways into the story which will be difficult to carry out but at the same time challenging for the viewers to understand. “It's all in London, we’re shooting them fairly back-to-back, it’s a lot of work once again, we may or may not survive, we'll see. But we’re very excited about it. We found a way into the story that we think is gonna be challenging for audiences, it's challenging for us to execute. And it’s super exciting for us, it gets us out of bed to do it," Joe told Deadline.
On the subject of whether the characters from the X-men or Deadpool will appear in the films, Joe stated that they have no idea. “Who knows? I don’t know. I don’t know who we’re gonna see. I still don’t know. Anyone from the Marvel universe can turn up in this movie.”
Anthony joked, “If you close your eyes and use your imagination, you can see anybody you want. Whoever tickles your fancy.” The Russo brothers have single-handedly directed 4 Marvel films: Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014), Captain America: Civil War (2016), Avengers: Infinity War (2018), Avengers: Endgame (2019). Avengers: Doomsday marks the fifth film in their lineup, scheduled for release on May 1, 2026. The sixth film, Avengers: Secret Wars, is anticipated to release in theaters May 7, 2027.
