Indian Captain Rohit Sharma: The Indian team suffered a crushing defeat by 184 runs in the fourth Test match against Australia. In the second innings, the Indian batsmen flopped badly and except Yashasvi Jaiswal (84 runs), no batsman could bat consistently. Due to this, Team India was all out for 155 runs. After losing the match, the Indian team is now in danger of reaching the final of the World Test Championship. At the same time, it is trailing 1-2 in the series. The fifth and last Test match of the series will be played in Sydney from January 3.

Last wicket partnership stole the match: Rohit Sharma

The Australian team was struggling in its second innings after scoring 90 runs for six wickets and at that time its total lead had not yet reached 200. However, the team was able to give India a target of 340 runs due to the struggle of the tail-end batsmen. Indian captain Rohit Sharma admitted that his team could not take advantage of the favorable situation. He said that we had taken six wickets of Australia for 90 runs. We knew that things would not be easy for us but we wanted to show passion even in difficult conditions. However, we failed to do so. After going to my room, I was thinking what else we could have done as a team. We lost whatever opportunities we created. They fought hard. Especially their partnership for the last wicket, perhaps that partnership took the match away from us. For Australia, Scott Boland and Nathan Lyon shared a 61-run partnership for the last wicket. Which proved to be too much for Team India.

Rohit Sharma said that we knew that scoring 340 runs would not be easy. We tried to prepare a platform and save wickets for the last two sessions, but they also bowled well. We wanted to reach the target, but we could not prepare a platform for it. Rohit Sharma said that it is mentally disturbing when you are not able to do what you have come to do. It is very disappointing. There are ways to win the match and we failed to find ways to win the match here. We wanted to fight till the end but unfortunately we could not do so.

Opened his heart in praise of Nitish Reddy

Indian captain Rohit Sharma has praised Nitish Reddy, who scored a century in the match. He said that he has come here for the first time. These conditions can be really difficult but he has shown great passion and solid technique. He has everything to succeed at this level. Fast bowler Jaspreet Bumrah was also praised. Rohit said that absolutely brilliant, we have been watching him for many years. He comes to the field and completes his work. He does not want to pay attention to the statistics.
