The nine-day festival will begin from March 22 this year. In Chaitra Navratri, the nine forms of Maa Durga will be worshiped according to the rules and regulations. Durga, the goddess of Navratri, is a symbol of Shakti, or feminine energy. According to the mythology surrounding the birth of Goddess Durga, the Mother Goddess combines the abilities of Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh (Shiva).

All the nine days of Chaitra Navratri are devoted to the worship of the nine incarnations of Maa Durga or Goddess Shakti – Shailputri, Brahmacharini, Chandraghanta, Kushmanda, Skandamata, Katyayani, Kalaratri, Mahagauri and Siddhidatri.
