• On the New Year's day, wake up in the morning, take a bath and wear clean clothes.

• Place Ganesha idol or picture on a stand and sprinkle some Ganga water on it. 
• Now offer roli, sandalwood, durva and flowers to Bappa. 
• After this, light a ghee or oil lamp and incense in front of the idol or picture of Lord Ganesha. 
• Offer fruits, laddus and modaks to Lord Ganesha. 
• After the puja, do the aarti of Lord Ganesha along with the whole family
