The Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles hosted a tribute ceremony which honored all musicians who died during the previous year. Indian musician Zakir Hussain won three Grammy Awards in the previous year becoming the first Indian recipient of this honor. Zakir Hussain passed away on December 15, 2024 from pulmonary fibrosis which led to his death at age 73 in a San Francisco hospital.
