How much has changed since the abrogation of Article 370 from Kashmir?  Here’s the report

Today it has been three years since Article 370 was removed from Jammu and Kashmir. Terrorist incidents have come down after the abrogation of Article 370. Along with this, no civilian or jawan was killed in the law and order incident. The number of civilian casualties in terrorist incidents has also come down.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, comparing the incidents before and after the abrogation of Article 370, said that there has been a decrease in terrorist incidents in the Kashmir region. The police have divided these cases into six categories.

Of these, 3,686 law and order incidents occurred between August 5, 2016 and August 4, 2019, while 438 incidents occurred between August 5, 2019 and August 4, 2022. Apart from this, 124 civilians were killed in law and order incidents three years before the abrogation of 370, which came to zero after the special status was removed. Apart from this, 6 soldiers were also martyred in such incidents, but not a single soldier was martyred after 2019.

As far as terrorist incidents in Kashmir are concerned, a total of 930 incidents took place between August 5, 2016 and August 4, 2019, which has come down to 617 after the removal of 370. Before the implementation of 370, 290 soldiers were martyred and 191 civilians were killed in these terrorist incidents, 3 years after the abrogation of Article 370, 174 soldiers were martyred and 110 people were killed.

However, several restrictions and curfews had to be imposed in the Kashmir Valley before the historic step was taken. However, the authorities lifted the ban and released the detained politicians. After the abrogation of Article 370 and 35 (A), the tourism sector has got a boost in the state. Due to infrastructural development, better connectivity and better law and order, the number of tourists to the Union Territory is increasing continuously.

Terrorists attacked a day before the anniversary

A day before the anniversary of the abrogation of Article 370 of the Constitution from Jammu and Kashmir, terrorists attacked in Pulwama. Terrorists attacked non-Kashmiri laborers by throwing grenades. In this incident, one worker was killed and two people were injured after which the security forces cordoned off the entire area.

The Narendra Modi government at the Center on August 5, 2019 abrogated Article 370 of the Constitution which gave special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Opposition parties are continuously opposing the abrogation of Article 370. Regional parties PDP and National Conference have been continuously demanding restoration of Article 370. PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti has been saying that the abrogation of Article 370 has worsened the situation in Kashmir, while National Conference chief Farooq Abdullah says that the BJP has done the work of dividing India by removing Article 370.
