Jaipur, (IANS, The natural beauty and architectural wonders present in the form of palaces, forts and havelis attract travelers from all over the world to Udaipur and Jodhpur. However, now the Rajasthan government is planning to convert these towns into business towns by promoting trade and exports from here, officials have confirmed.
Speaking to IANS, Rajasthan Export Promotion Council (REPC) chairman Rajeev Arora said, the new air cargo complex in Udaipur is coming up soon. The Rajasthan Small Industries Corporation (REPC) is working to set up an air cargo complex at Udaipur’s Dabok airport to facilitate import and export of goods in the next few months. I have met the president of AAI and discussed the ground for the same.
In fact, we have sought permission from the central government to start international flights and air cargo complex in the lake city, so that tourists can easily visit this beautiful city and import-export can also be easier from here, he said. In addition, the state government is organizing the first international exhibition in Jodhpur to ensure that it becomes a facilitator of exports and organize buyer-seller meets. We will ensure that we bring in buyers to facilitate exports from this city.
Also we have selected land for PM Gati Shakti for multi-modal connectivity to provide integrated and seamless connectivity, he added. This will reduce the travel time. Export will also start from Jodhpur in the next one year. Our target is to take Rajasthan’s exports to one lakh crore rupees and we are trying to achieve this target.
Arora said- Gujarat is leading the export chart in the country while Rajasthan is at 12th position. So now we are trying to compete with our neighboring state through three new initiatives, that is to start Udaipur Air Cargo Complex, Jodhpur Depot and this International Expo.
