His Tamil song, Mr Romeo’s Thanerai Kathalikum, which was sung by A.R. Rahman, was very much liked.
His other recent popular songs include Thalam Poi Thappam Poi from Ayyappanam Koshiyam and Alle Govinda from Kakakul. Odathandil Thalam Kotam from Pazhasi Raja and Dhoom Dhoom Dooretho from Rakilipattu were also huge hits. Sangeeta sang ‘Janapajaate Pizantha’ in front of the then Chief Minister Jayalalithaa at the Tamil Nadu Government Film Awards. According to a report in The New Indian Express, she was so impressed that he gave her a gold necklace of 10 sovereigns.
