He also praised the veteran actor for continuing to inspire generations with his extraordinary journey. The Jestha Nagrik Award, given to individuals who have made significant contributions to society, was a fitting tribute to Jeetendra’s impactful career and enduring legacy.

Jeetendra’s Heartfelt Speech

Reflecting on his journey, Jeetendra expressed deep gratitude for his roots, sharing nostalgic memories of his early years in Mumbai’s Girgaon chawl, where he lived for 18 years.

"I stayed in Girgaon chawl for 18 years. While I lived in a small chawl, there was always an abundance of love. Today, at 83 years old, I still believe those years were the best of my life. I started as an extra, a junior artist, and got my first break because Shanta Rao Bap found it hilarious that a Punjabi boy like me spoke Marathi so fluently. I consider myself more Maharashtrian than anything else. I was just 15 days old when my mother brought me to Bombay, and Girgaon became my home. I thank you all for honoring me with this award.”

Jeetendra’s humility and gratitude for his beginnings have always defined his personality, making him an even more beloved figure among his fans.

A Well-Deserved Recognition

This honor serves as a powerful tribute to Jeetendra’s enduring legacy—not just as an actor but as an icon who has left an indelible mark on Indian cinema. Known as the Legendary Superstar, his contributions continue to inspire generations, and this recognition further solidifies his iconic status in Bollywood and beyond.
