Voting is tomorrow on 288 seats of Maharashtra, tough competition between uncle-nephew, Uddhav-Shinde and BJP candidates

Maharashtra Assembly Election 1

Voting will be held for 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra on Wednesday. The electoral future of many parties is at stake in Maharashtra. There is a direct contest between BJP and Congress on more than 70 seats in Maharashtra. A lot will depend on the results of these seats for forming the government. The contest in the 36 seats of Mumbai and its suburbs in the assembly elections is quite interesting.

A total of 4,136 candidates are in the fray.

Voting will begin at 7 am on Wednesday. Voting will continue till 6 pm. A total of 4,136 candidates are contesting in Maharashtra, including 2,086 independent candidates. BJP is contesting in 149 seats, Shiv Sena in 81, and NCP in 59 assembly constituencies.

There are around 9.70 crore voters in the state.

The Congress has fielded 101 candidates, Shiv Sena (UBT) 95, and NCP (SP) 86. The BSP is contesting 237 seats. Other smaller parties are also in the fray. There are around 9.70 crore voters in the state. Over 2 lakh security personnel have been deployed at polling stations.

These leaders tried their best

In the Maharashtra Assembly elections, NCP (SP) supremo Sharad Pawar, Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar are trying their best to get people’s votes for their respective parties.

Direct clash between Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar’s parties

Sharad Pawar had given a big blow to Ajit Pawar in the Lok Sabha elections. Now it remains to be seen whose party gets more MLAs elected in the assembly elections this time, Sharad or Ajit Pawar. Ajit Pawar’s faction has been recognized by the Election Commission as the real Nationalist Congress Party (NCP). Sharad Pawar is confident of defeating the rival faction in the assembly elections as well, while Ajit Pawar is hoping to make a comeback with a good performance.

Shinde Vs Shiv Sena of Uddhav group

On the other hand, if we talk about the Shinde and Uddhav factions of Shiv Sena, both of them had performed well in the Lok Sabha elections. In such a situation, the results of the assembly elections are expected to determine who the public considers the real heir to the party’s legacy. The Election Commission has recognized the Shinde faction as the real Shiv Sena.

These two alliances are in the electoral fray.

In Maharashtra, Sharad Pawar’s NCP (SP), Uddhav’s Shiv Sena (UBT), and Congress are part of the opposition alliance Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA). At the same time, the ruling alliance Mahayuti includes the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP).

BJP is fighting on 149 seats

BJP is contesting on 149 seats in Maharashtra, while Shiv Sena has fielded its candidates on 81 seats and NCP on 59 seats. Congress is trying its luck on 101 seats, Shiv Sena (UBT) on 95 seats and NCP (SP) on 86 seats.

Who is the king of Mumbai?

Both factions of Shiv Sena are face-to-face on 50 seats. On the other hand, rival factions of the NCP have fielded candidates against each other on 37 seats. The fight between the two factions of Shiv Sena is mainly focused on ‘Who is the king of Mumbai’.

Close contest in Western Maharashtra

Earlier the undivided Shiv Sena dominated the country’s economic capital, but now both factions of the party are face to face there. At the same time, a close contest is expected between the uncle-nephew (Sharad and Ajit Pawar) in Western Maharashtra, which is considered the stronghold of the Pawar family.

Sharad Pawar started the election campaign.

Sharad Pawar has appealed to the voters of the region in his election rallies to defeat the rebels (Ajit Pawar and his party candidates). At the same time, Ajit Pawar has been seen avoiding using harsh words against his uncle for fear of creating a wave of sympathy in his favor.

This was the result of the Lok Sabha elections.

In the Lok Sabha elections, NCP (SP) had won 8 seats, while NCP had to be content with just one seat. On the other hand, Shiv Sena (UBT) had won 9 seats, while 7 seats went to Shiv Sena’s account.
