After the end of more Shravan month, Nij Shravan month is starting from 17th August. Sunday 20th August is Vinayak Chaturthi. Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated on the fourth tithi of every month. Chaturthi in Shukla Paksha is called Vinayaka Chaturthi and Chaturthi in Krishna Paksha is called Sankashti Chaturthi. Ganesha is worshiped by fasting on Vinayaka Chaturthi in the month of Shravan. Shravan Vinayak Chaturthi auspicious time
According to Panchang, Vinayaka Chaturthi will start on August 19 at 10:19 PM. Ends on August 21 at 12:21 PM. Thus Vinayak Chaturthi Vrat will be observed on August 20. According to the scriptural rules, Ganesha is worshiped at noon. The auspicious time of the puja will be on August 20 from 11:26 AM to 1:58 PM.
Shravan Vinayaka Chaturthi Significance
It is very auspicious to worship Ganapati Bappa, the son of Shiva in the month of Shravan. Ganapati Bappa himself is believed to remove all the troubles of those fasting especially on Vinayaka Chaturthi. Ganesha should be worshiped on this day for wisdom, wealth, strength, knowledge and family happiness. In the month of Shravan, along with Lord Shankar, the worship of Ganesha is also considered to be of special importance. In the worship of Ganesha, offering Durva to God and offering Modak or Ladle of Besna is of special importance.
Shravan Vinayaka Chaturthi Puja Rituals
On the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi, one should take a bath early in the morning and make a resolution and spread a red cloth on a wooden square and install a Ganesha idol. Offer Kunku, Moli, Janeu, Durva, Pushpa, Panchameva, Panchamrut, Rice to God. Offer modak, motichur laddu in Bhoga and then perform aarti and chant of Lord Ganesha and distribute prasad.
