New Delhi: According to the report of the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association, there has been an 84 percent decrease in vehicle sales in the country. Only 2,844 units were sold in the country in April 2023, while 18,626 units were sold in April 2022.

In Pakistan, demand has decreased due to various factors like inflation, increase in interest rates, increase in petrol-diesel prices and increase in vehicle prices. These factors have affected the purchasing power of the consumers and there has been a decrease in demand.

Entry-level car segments such as the 1000BB have been hit the most by the decline. According to data from the Pakistan Automotive Manufacturers Association, only 276 units were sold in this segment in April.

The above 1300 cc segment, which is bought by the middle class or upper class, sold 1,585 units in April. Last month, 9,189 units were sold in the same segment.

On the one hand, there has been a significant decline in the sale of vehicles in Pakistan.
