Ramachandran started Jyothi Laboratories by taking a loan of Rs 5000 and with his hard work turned it into a company worth Rs 16900 crore. Ramachandran, the founder of Jyothi Labs, is now the honorary chairman of the company. He hails from Thrissur, Kerala. Jyothi Labs has now become a famous brand after his years of hard work. The company has produced many excellent products, which are well liked in Indian homes. The most liked products of the company are Ujala Supreme Fabric Whitener and EXO Dish Wash Bar.
Ramachandran started work from home with less money.
Ramachandran completed his B.Com from St. Thomas College. After this, he worked as an accountant for some time. But in the midst of all this, something else was going on in his mind. He was eager to start his own business and he was planning it in his mind. For this, he started trying from his home. Ramachandran tried to make a liquid used for shining clothes in his kitchen many times. But initially he could not succeed in it.
A line read in a magazine changed his fate.
But his curiosity grew even more when he read in a chemical industry magazine that purple colour is used to make clothes more white and bright. After this information, he kept experimenting with purple coloured substances throughout the year to make an effective solution for washing clothes. Finally, his experiment was successful and he decided to make Ujala Supreme Fabric Whitener. After coming in the market, his product proved so effective that it became famous in every house by the name of ‘Chaar Boond Wala Ujala’.
He borrowed 5000 rupees from his brother
but he did not have the funds to turn it into a company. For this, he borrowed 5000 rupees from his brother in 1983 and set up a temporary factory in a small part of his house in Thrissur. He named the factory Jyothi Labs after his daughter Jyothi. The company got its first big success when it launched Ujala Supreme Liquid Fabric Whitener. People liked this product very much because after using it, the clothes became bright and white.
