Suspense crime, Digital Desk : An NIA special court in India has, on Monday, further extended the custody of the accused mastermind behind the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai, Tahawwur Hussain Rana, by an additional 12 days.
After the completion of the initial eighteen days of NIA custody, Rana appears - under heavy escort and with his head concealed - in front of Special NIA Court Chairperson Chander Jit Singh.
Background: Rana’s Involvement in the 26/11 Conspiracy
Rana is an intimate associate of Headley David Coleman, also known as Daood Gilani, who is regarded as the principal conspirator for the attacks on Mumbai in 2008.
The US citizen had his wish reviewed on 4th April when theinal Court of America voted to review his plea to cancel his extradition and subsequently, extradited him to India.

Rana’s medical exams will be conducted every day.
Rana may consult with his lawyer every other day.
Rana must be escorted by NIA personnel during the consultations, although at a non-eavesdropping distance.
During this period, the only writing instrument permissible to Rana is a soft-tip pen.
